The Body’s Biofield
We are quite familiar with health being a product of how well we take proper physical care of our bodies. We focus on regular exercise, eating well-balanced nutritious meals, and attempt to get the sleep and down-time our bodies so desperately need. This is all well-and-good and is essential to maintain health and vitality, but we must not overlook another factor to optimal health – the Biofield.
What is a Biofield?
In 1992, it was the Office of Alternative Medicine at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), that first used the term “biofield” as a way to describe this field of energy that surrounds and permeates the body. It’s further been described as the “language of life” communicating information throughout our entire being even at a quantum level. Information that’s vital for life, health and healing.
According to physics, the human body is composed of over 98% energy in the form of both kinetic (active) and potential (stored) energy. Please note that I’m not making reference here to auras or chakras, but scientific energy. At the atomic level, cells are composed of a central nucleus (protons + neutrons) surrounded by a cloud of electrons. This cloud is filled with an electromagnetic field that ties the electrons to the nucleus. This is the basis of the energy of the biofield.
The body is electric.
Conventional medicine doesn’t use the terminology of a biofield as of yet, but physicians of all disciplines acknowledge the electrical or energetic nature of the body. For example, the electrical nature of the heart and the brain are monitored using electrocardiograms (ECG) and electroencephalograms (EEGs), respectively. If the electrical capabilities of these organs are affected negatively, symptoms will begin to occur.
Natural health practitioners also acknowledge that the body’s biofield is important and is a factor in achieving optimal health.
Hidden Damage Can Lead To Very Real Symptoms
Can physical trauma to the body affect this electrical flow through organs and glands? Certainly. This can happen as a result of almost any bodily trauma such as concussions, broken bones, dental work, scars, tattoos, etc.. The disruption that was created in the trauma area allows toxic waste to accumulate which disrupts communication and activity in cells affecting the larger organs and glands. This can result in poor healing, lingering pain, inflammation, and symptoms of illness.
Wondering if toxicity from past injuries or traumas is contributing to your pain or unresolved health issues? It’s worth taking the time to have your biofield evaluated.
